Post 5: Not the Pinterest Version

This part has been humbling.

We weren’t just figuring out when to get married but relearning what marriage actually is.

Not the cultural version or the Pinterest version. AND DEFINITELY NOT the, “we’ve been together forever so we might as well” version.

We had to go deep, Ask hard questions. It was kind of uncomfortable to be honest. Which might seem silly because we've been together forever.. it was that rewiring... Because through God’s eyes, marriage isn’t a checkpoint. And to us that's what it felt like society was always throwing at us.
It’s covenant and a spiritual partnership: holiness, sacrifice, joy. And it's no news to us it's hard... because we've been living it basically. This time, we'll have obedience to the Lord.

We didn’t have that lens until recently.

We weren’t rebellious, just uninformed.
And once we understood...it changed the important things for us.

It doesn’t mean we were bad before.... just means we’re choosing different now.

And it’s not always easy… but it’s good. AMENNNNN ammmmmmiiiirighttttt
