Post 4: Calibrating to Celibacy

So here’s the truth:
We gave in once… and then got serious. LOL. I meannnnnn gah, we are human

We’ve actually been celibate since, but i wanna be honest that we didn't crush it out the gate. It was a process. It took intention and conversation. But after that moment, we knew this part mattered.

Jon's been incredible. He didn’t make me feel bad or crazy or “too much.” He’s not even Catholic, and still, he’s honoring the path I’m on. He sees what this faith walk means to me and is walking it alongside me, in his own way.

That’s what love looks like.

yes… we were still stewing on when to get married (then, at the time, not now).
Not gonna lie, we had the convo, how fast do we need to get this wedding going so we can get back in the sack 😅

But the deeper thing was this:
We had to rewrite everything we thought marriage was in terms of a big party and ceremony.... It wasn’t just about romance and celebration but how it's a covenant, the obedience prior and how sacred it actually is. Remember, this whole time i've been like "i don't need a piece of paper to prove me love".

That’s where it got harder for me, because I’ve been in this branding/influencing/collab world for years.
My mind runs in aesthetics... even tho I myself don't present a solid one... lol... I’ve imagined a Pinterest-worthy wedding forever.

So letting go of what it looked like.... that’s been the part where God is stretching me most.

And like our pastor said last weekend…
“Your trials don’t lead to your downfall. They lead to your spiritual strength.” SO CRAZY HOW THE LORD DELIVERS WHAT YOU NEED TO HEAR

More on that part next.
